Due to this session being run remotely, it will be run over two morning sessions.

• How abusers operate within organisations


• Features of a safer recruitment process


• Planning a safer recruitment process


• Making the right decisions: interview and selection


• Setting acceptable standards of behaviour


• Maintaining an ongoing culture of vigilance

ASSESSMENT

A standard assessment has been provided to cover the workshop content.  The questions relevant to each session will be delivered at the end of each session, 13 questions in total.

Practitioners:

• will have an awareness and understanding of offender behaviour


• will be able to identify the key features of staff recruitment that helps deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people


• will be able to consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse


• will begin to review their own and their settings policies and practices, with a view to making them safe

Settings

• will be safer organisations


• will comply with government guidance and legislation
