Course description

Speech sound (pronunciation) develoopment from 0-7 years, how we make speech sounds, common immaturities and possible causes of speech sound difficulties.


How to informally assess a child's speech, strategies for dealing with unclear speech.


Developing listening skills and how we use activities to support speech sound development.


Ideal for:


Teachers and childcare/education support staff in all education and childcare settings who support children with speech sound difficulties.


Delegates must attend both sessions on the 8th June and the 15th June 2021.

Training objectives

  • To be able to understand how to make speech sounds

  • To be able to identify the different elements of speech sound therapy

  • To be able to chose appropriate activities
