This course provides an overview of what is meant by the terms ‘speech’, ‘language’ and ‘communication’ and how these areas develop in adolescence to enable you to identify students in your setting who may have speech, language and communication difficulties. We will look at what difficulties Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students may face and discuss practical strategies and approach that can support students in these areas.

Any practitioners working with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students including: teaching assistants, teachers and SENCOs.
This course is particularly useful for staff that are new to a setting or role supporting students or for those who would like to refresh their knowledge of speech, language and communication skills and relevant supportive strategies.
