The first aid at work training course provides the comprhensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in the most workplaces to become a confident first aider at work. Giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health & Safety (first aid) Regulations.
The content of the course will cover how to deal with the following:
Managing an emergency
Communication and casualty care
Bleeding (minor and severe)
Bone, muscle and joint injuries
Burns and scalds
Chest pains (including heart attack)
Low blood sugar
Resuscitation (adult CPR)
Severe allergic reaction
This part theory/part practical session will enable colleagues to develop different methods and strategies to deliver activities that are challenging, progressive and importantly, fun.
You will focus on small sided games, activities and practices that will ensure that all children participate fully and develop their knowledge, skills and understanding in a wide range of activities.
This course is for school staff looking for an overview of Down Syndrome and is a useful starting point for those new to supporting learners with Down Sydrome.
To equip school staff with detailed knowledge of the specific learning profile of children and young people with Down Syndrome and how to support their learning needs within school settings.
Participants should attend both sessions.
